Michele Vancour is the director of Faculty Development and professor of public health at Southern. She has been studying work-life issues affecting academic faculty development for over 15 years. Her research has been shared through publications, presentations, and used to create support initiatives in higher education. Michele is recognized nationally and in Canada for her leadership and scholarship related evidence-based initiatives that support faculty, staff and student success. In 2014, she was named the SCSU point-person for workplace flexibility in response to the ACE National Challenge for Higher Education. She is the chair of the Work-Life Advisory Committee, which is comprised of leaders, faculty, and staff who provide guidance to help make Southern a great place to work and learn. Jennifer Hudson is the associate for Faculty Development at Southern. She holds 15 years of experience in higher education, including faculty development and part-time teaching in Women's Studies and English. One of her specific passions in faculty development is new faculty mentoring. Jennifer holds both a Master of Arts in English (literature) and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in creative writing. She has published several scholarly essays, short stories, poems, and is at work on her first novel. Her research interests include women writers and women's literary production, feminist theory, queer theory, and feminist spirituality and theology.
