SPAR is happy to announce that SCSU now offers the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program. In their own words, CITI provides “high-quality, peer-reviewed, web-based educational courses in research, ethics, regulatory oversight, responsible conduct of research, research administration, and other topics pertinent to the interests of member organizations and individual learners.”
The CITI Program was implemented as the result of a 2017 – 2018 review of SCSU’s current research systems, policies and practices. It addresses the need for current, easily accessible online training in all areas of research compliance, and is open to faculty members and students for both initial and retraining purposes.
Registration for CITI can be accessed here and completed by following the registration steps available as a printable PDF. Please check back shortly for information on specific learning module requirements within the following subject areas:
- Institutional Review Board (IRB)
- Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
- Biosafety and Biosecurity (BSS)
- Responsible Conduct of Research
A full catalog of courses currently available to faculty, staff and students may be found here.
The Sponsored Programs and Research Office recommends that all faculty and staff take the offered courses pertaining to Conflict of Interest and Responsible Conduct of Research (specific to their discipline), in addition to the courses recommended by the compliance committees.
