Larry Bingamanis the president & CEO of the South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (RWA). Since 2009, when he accepted this position, he has been keenly focused on sustainable and conscious business practices that maintain and grow the region’s rich natural resources to create new opportunities. Larry gained his utility experience during his 20-year career with Aquarion Water Company, one of the seven largest investor-owned water companies in the U.S., serving 700,000 people in 33 Connecticut, Massachusetts & New Hampshire communities.
Prior to joining Aquarion, he was the director of marketing communications at Sikorsky Aircraft, a division of United Technologies (UTC); and, manager of press relations at UTC headquarters. Larry spent the first half of his career with Texaco, holding various employee relations, public affairs and management positions of increasing responsibility in California, Texas, New Jersey, and New York.
Larry is deeply involved in the New Haven community. He is the current chairman for the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce Board, serves on the Gateway President’s Advisory Council, serves on the Business Advisory Council at Southern Connecticut State University, is a former director of Griffin Hospital Services Corporation and is a founding Board Member for the Connecticut Chapter of Conscious Capitalism. Larry was recently nominated for the Corporate Honoree Award by Gateway Community College, which will be presented to him at the 19th Annual Hall of Fame Induction.
Larry holds an executive MBA from the University of New Haven, and a BS in business administration and labor relations from California State University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in management at Walden University.
